Carola Pettinato

About me

My name is Carola Pettinato, I am a Sicilian girl passionate about art, languages and technology.  After my studies in Modern Literature at the University of Messina, I have decided to move to London, a place where the past and the future coexist in harmony. If there is one very thing that this amazing city taught me, is that you can become everything you want, and so I did: In 2019,  I have decided to challenge myself with a new adventure: be a game developer. I am currently in the second year of my BSc Computer Games Development course at the University of Westminster.

I want to prove that is never too late to start again, to push your limit, to bring all your passion and unique experience into something so amazing like the game development process.

I have always had more propensity to work on the creative side of projects, such as creations of a story and design of the character, but programming has now become my new obsession, due to also my large interest in languages.

My favourites video games: The Last Of Us(I-II), Final Fantasy (VII, VIII, IX, X), GTA (San Andreas, Vice City, V), Red Dead Redemption (I-II), Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Rayman, Gex, Skyrim, Medievil.

Career 

I have always had more propensity for art since my childhood, I remember crystal clear the joy drawing would give me as well as playing video games.  I have always been a curious, creative individual focused on details and I usually enjoy working both collaboratively as well as on my own. When creating a game, I  am very involved in the creation process, focusing on the creation of the story, design of the character, ambient and game mechanics. Programming (C#, C++) has now become my new obsession, due to also my large interest in languages.

I hope one day to work as an independent game developer and create my own indie studio.
